Amerigo Announces Closing of Private Placement

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA – February 13/CNW/ - Amerigo Resources Ltd. (TSX:ARG, "Amerigo" or the "Company") announced today that it has closed its previously announced non-brokered private placement (the "Financing") of 37.5 million units (each a "Unit") at a price of $0.28 per Unit, for aggregate gross proceeds of $10,500,000. Each Unit consisted of one common share ("Share") and one share purchase warrant ("Warrant"). Each Warrant entitles the holder to purchase one additional Share at a price of $0.33 until February 15, 2010, and thereafter at a price of $0.40 until February 14, 2011. Together with the issuance of Units for finders' fees in respect of a portion of the Financing, the Company issued a total of 38,744,400 Units. The net proceeds of the Financing will be used for working capital purposes.
